Professor Ukwuoma, who resumed duty at the helms of affairs in NACETEM on the 1st of September, was warmly received by the highly respected royal father and his subjects. While addressing the gathering, Oba Okunade Sijuwade expressed his appreciation for the positive contributions of NACETEM to the development of Nigeria and particularly to the economy of Ile-Ife and its environs. He commended the past leadership of the Agency and implored the new Chief Executive to keep up the good work and endeavour to take NACETEM to greater heights.

In his own reaction, the DG/CEO NACETEM, Professor Okechukwu Ukwuoma expressed gratitude to the entire Ife people starting from the royal father, Oba Sijuwade, for making the ancient town a peaceful and productive place for NACETEM to operate from. He disclosed that paying homage to the monarch was inevitable as it was necessary to announce his arrival to the people he met on ground. He then promised the continuous support of NACETEM to its immediate hosts and his readiness to pilot the affairs of the highly respected Agency to higher levels.

In his response, Professor Ukwuoma, DG/CEO NACETEM, thanked the Faculty for the warm reception given to him. He described his visit to the Faculty as a homecoming as he obtained both his bachelor and master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty. The Professor of Chemical Engineering and Project Management Technology then promised not only to maintain the cordial interactions between NACETEM and the Faculty of Technology, O.A.U but to even take it to higher levels for the benefit of both institutions.

While at the palace, Professor Ukwuoma also had familiarization chat with the Chairman of the Ife Development Board, Professor Muib Opeloye, who promised the unflinching support of Ife people to NACETEM. Expressing his appreciation for the warm reception he was given, Professor Ukwuoma described his resumption at NACETEM Headquarters in Ile-Ife as a homecoming having obtained his first and second degrees in Chemical Engineering at the then University of Ife. He therefore expressed his readiness to ensure the ties between NACETEM and the Ile-Ife community waxed stronger.

On the DG/CEO’s entourage were Mr. Ini Ekanem, Director, Planning, Programmes and Linkages; Dr. Wale Olaopa, representing the Head of Research, Collaboration and Consultancy; Mr. Akin Olawale, Head of Human Resource Management; Mr. Olatubosun Awofisayo, Head of Internal Audit and several others.
