BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The M.Tech. in Digital Marketing and Strategy programme is designed to prepare individuals with the required intellectual capacity for marketing products or services using digital channels and also contributing to knowledge in academia. The programme is designed to give the students a strong academic background and needed skills combined with an understanding of the relationship between the specialized field and other areas in technology.
The programme will produce graduates that serve as catalysts for change, leveraging digital advancements to propel organisations to new heights of success through developmental services of the highest standards for sustainable socioeconomic development. The philosophy of the M.Tech. programme is to provide graduates with relevant education and training in digital marketing, develop and deepen the digital skills in the students; take organisations and promote their image, remain competitive and relevant in the global market through the digital space as well as management responsibilities in public and private sectors of the national and global economies.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The M.Tech. in Digital Marketing and Strategy is designed to:
i. gain in-depth knowledge of various digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and influencer marketing.
ii. develop practical skills in content creation, campaign management, optimization, and performance measurement across different channels.
iii. learn how to integrate different channels into a cohesive digital marketing strategy.
iv. conduct independent research projects on relevant digital marketing topics and present findings effectively.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The criteria for admission into Professional M. Tech in Digital Marketing and Strategy are as follow:
- Five O’level credits in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects in the candidate’s area of discipline at not more than two sittings.
- A bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.Tech./B.Eng. or its equivalent) with a CGPA of not less than 3.0 or 3rd Class with not less than 2 years’ experience in a relevant field.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of lower credit in related fields from any recognized Polytechnic or institution. Such candidates must have a PGD in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Candidates may be required to undertake and pass a pre-admission selection examination.
PROGRAMME DURATION
The full time Professional M.Tech. programme shall run for a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of 4 semesters.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates are expected to be successfully acquire a minimum of 26 credit units made up of 16 units of core courses, 2 units of electives, 2 units for internship/industrial work experience and 6 units of project.
2. Thesis in the area of specialization is also a requirement and the candidate is required to pass an oral defense of the project for graduation.

The Professional M.Tech. in Digital Marketing and Strategy programme is run by course work (made up of core and courses), internship/industrial work experience and project. To qualify for the award of M.Tech. degree, the candidate must pass all courses, making a total of 26 credit units (inclusive of project).
